Quidenham Estate - Named as one of the top 10 Partridge shoots in the UK  - Shooting Gazette, September 2016

Welcome

Quidenham Estate in Norfolk is an historic and renowned shoot and was one of King Edward VII’s favourites. Our newly converted shoot lodge is only 70 miles from London with excellent access for major road and rail networks and only 10 minutes from the A11.

The estate covers 3,600 acres including 500 acres of mature woodland and with over forty high quality drives and our award winning hospitality we offer guests a first class all-round experience.  With considerable investment and new shoot tenants Quidenham Game Shooting offers driven and mini-driven days, two syndicates and wild duck flighting. Out of the game season we organise decoy pigeon shooting, crow and rook shooting and simulated game days.

Customer feedback

2016/17 season

Just a quick note to thank you and your team for a lovely day on Friday.  Please pass it on to all involved.

We all enjoyed it immensely-great organisation, food and drink, shooting and company.

..........................

May I offer my most sincere and warm thanks for a really splendid day at Quidenham yesterday. It is no exaggeration to say that it was a great day of shooting, made even more special by efficient organising by you and all your team.

Please do thank everyone on my behalf, especially Wendy and all the catering team, and Robert for all the hard work done by him in preparation and then on the day by the beaters. The birds were as you said very good indeed - their condition being auspicious and a really hopeful signal of a great season.

Thank you for my most excellent inaugural day at Quidenham and I am much looking forward to the remaining days I have booked.

A brief note to thank you for a truly excellent day yesterday. We have always enjoyed previous visits to Quidenham but everyone agreed that you have moved things up a level since our previous visits under various other hosts. The new shoot lodge is great, the food excellent and the shooting was fantastic especially considering the warm sunny day.

Please pass on our thanks to all involved.

The historic Norfolk sporting estate at Quidenham is being restored to its former glory.  Shoot owner Nick Culley is in his second season now, and already there are excellent results.  Additional drives have been established, and old ones revived, and the new season is showing an abundance of birds.  The shooting mixes open drives under wide East Anglian skies, and some fine shooting in the woods, established historically with the sport in mind.   A good wind means there are pheasant and fast partridges to challenge even expert guns!  Nick is supported by longstanding keeper Robert Brown and by a charming & excellent hospitality team led by Nick’s wife, Wendy.

I shoot all over the UK and abroad and Quidenham just get’s better and better reflecting the ongoing investment made by the owner Nick Culley. This is also reflected in the quality of the birds, given the flat landscape of East Anglia, consistently produced by the long term keeper Robert Brown. The Culley family gives the shoot a friendly, hands on atmosphere, unlike many large commercial shoots these days, and Nick’s wife Wendy, and her team, produces the very best snacks on arrival, homemade sausage rolls and quiches mid morning followed by excellent various soups at lunch, which puts many more expensive shoots to shame.

Excellent sport, excellent hosts and an excellent atmosphere all round for everyones enjoyment, including respect for guns wanting to work their own dogs.

2015/16 season

The birds where sporting and well driven with clearly enough birds to last the season. I congratulate your hospitality team, everything went like clockwork and the food was very, very good!

..........................

I would just like to say what a fanastic days sport we had and the hospitality was second to none and it is a credit to you all.

..........................

I had been looking for a shoot local to me for some time and this year was lucky enough to find the re-launched Quidenham shoot on Guns on Pegs. I managed to book a gun in early October, and having shot there, have taken 3 more days this season and invited friends. The shoot has spent a lot of effort on facilities including a new shoot lodge, purpose built gun-bus and excellent catering. The birds fly well and are plentiful. I have shot there 3 times since the beginning of October and each time we made or exceeded the bag. The atmosphere is friendly and individual guns are welcome – I would strongly recommend this shoot for both the shooting and the hospitality.

..........................

Just a note to say the whole shoot party had an excellent day. Rob was British high skeet champion in the 1990s and has shot, frankly, everywhere said it was one of the best days he’s had.

..........................

I shot at Quidenham  last week. I don’t often rave about a shoot or the people. This shoot was an absolute treat

..........................

Thank you for a most enjoyable day at your Quidenham shoot today, good challenging birds and the hospitality was excellent. I fully appreciate the investment you have made in the shoot and I wish you and your team great  success, well done to all.

..........................

Yesterday was the second day that i shot on the Quidenham Mini Driven day with Nick & the team,it was an excellent day, good Birds, nice guns & a friendly atmosphere. They made my non shooting wife very welcome. Will be booking days for next season.

..........................

Change is feared by some and yet when the Quidenham Estate Shooting rights changed hands to Nick Culley, it could not have had a better outcome. Having shot regularly there for some years, Nick has raised the bar considerably and has allowed long time head keeper Robert Brown to develop new drives and enhance existing ones.

There is a beautiful new shoot lodge offering first class facilities and above all some of the best catering you will find at any shoot. The standard of cooking and ingredients is extremely high whether it be lunch at the lodge or elevenses in the field. the choice and quality of wine and drinks is again of the highest level.

I have to say this is definitely change for the better and such a pleasant surprise to see the effort and commitment from all the team at Quidenham. Well done to all and I shall enjoy many more days shooting at this terrific venue.
